What is Hookay?
Hookay is a new social network for gay and bi men, built in Europe: dates, sex, friendship and chosen family in one place. It is in closed beta now and launches in the DACH region first.
When does Hookay launch?
We launch in Germany, Austria and Switzerland first. The closed beta is running already — iPhone via TestFlight, Android via Google Play. Details at hookay.eu/beta.
How is Hookay different from other apps?
Three deliberate modes — Now, Dates, Community — instead of one endless grid. Content expires instead of scrolling forever. And privacy is a build constraint, bound in a public Privacy Charter that can only ever be changed in your favor.
How does Hookay make money?
Through subscriptions, openly — never through ads. No ads means no ad profile and no reason to track you. Pricing details follow at launch.
What data does Hookay collect?
As little as possible. No precise locations — neighborhoods only. No readable chats — conversations are encrypted. No ad profile, no real-name requirement, and AI features run on your device. The full commitment is the Privacy Charter at hookay.eu/privacy.
Where is my data stored?
Exclusively in the European Union, on infrastructure operated by European companies under European law. No US cloud providers, no CLOUD Act exposure — no exceptions.
